Happy Australia Day Weekend!!

Welcome to Issue 1 of the MelbourneTeam Express, bringing you the
latest updates from the Melbourne Team!!

***A bit about us…***

First, we’d like to give you a general introduction to where the
MelbourneTeam sits in the TakingITGlobal organisation.

Established by a group of young people interested in TakingITGlobal’s
aims and ideas mid-2001, the MelbourneTeam has become a vibrant and
innovative arm of TakingITGlobal.

Instigating the incorporation of TIG Australia, Inc, the MelbourneTeam
has spurred the growth of TakingITGlobal across Australia. With a
new website at http://australia.takingitglobal.org, TIG Australia
Inc is set to become a significant part of the Australian Youth Sector,
spreading the aims and vision of TakingITGlobal.

In the meantime, MelbourneTeam meets regularly to link members of
TakingITGlobal from Melbourne and Victoria to each other and TIG
Australia. To find out more about who we are and when we meet, email

-MelbourneTeam Express established!

A management bloodbath has finally ended in consensus! Rather than
two updates from two different people, you’ll be just getting just
the best news from the MelbourneTeam Express. Compiled from your
updates and contributions, the MT Express provides everyone on the
team and people from the wider TakingITGlobal community with the
news and perspectives from Melbourne.

-Meetings, meetings and more meetings…

Expect outcomes soon! Over the past week, leaders of various sub-
committees have been developing ideas and plans for the New Year.
If you would like to join a subcommittee, email Alice (azaslavsky@takingitglobal.
org) and she will put you in touch with the relevant person-in-charge.

-Use of the mailing list

If you’re reading this on the MelbourneTeam mailing list, then you
can guess what we’re talking about! Especially if your first name
starts with an M or an N! Whilst we all love debate and current affairs,
use of the mailing list is specifically for MelbourneTeam-related
discussion. The discussions (Bulletin Board) section of the TIG website
provides a great forum for your thoughts and opinions. We hope to
see some great stuff from you up there soon!

Jarra McGrath, Oceania Zone Coordinator and SydneyTeam Leader is
in Singapore, en route to Europe to spread TIG’s aims and message.
